Camazotz The Mayan Bat God

In the Popol Vuh (Mayan Bible), the bat is a great angel who descended from heaven. Camazotz had the body of a person the head of a bat and pointy ears. The ancient deity was dubbed as a master of mysteries, life, and death. Camazotz comes from two ancient Maya (K’iche ) words ‘kame, which means “death”, and sotz’, which is translated as “bat”.
